1. President’s Opening Remarks
a) Welcome and introductions

Woody welcome everyone to the meeting.

He noted that when he rejoined Paardeberg Unit, it was to get back to basics, riding and having fun.

He reviewed his email asking for members to step up to fill the position of Vice President due to Signals 7 moving to B.C. and with Guy stepping back as Sgt-at-Arms for health reasons.

He encourages anyone with concerns to bring those concerns to the Executive. It will be discussed and brought back to a unit meeting for discussion. Recently a concern was raised by a Unit member concerning former members attending CAV meetings and events. The Exec discussed this item and brought it to members for discussion at tonight's meeting.

2. President’s Discussion Issues
Woody lead a discussion regarding former members attending Unit rides and events. The consensus of those in attendance was that former members would be encouraged to rejoin if they wished to attend meetings. The Executive is considering a protocol to follow if former members wish to ride with the unit. The SAA and Ride Captain would be responsible for implementing this protocol in a respectful manner. Members in attendance had no issue with non members riding with the unit. If the event is an official CAV event non-members would ride at the back of the group (as per The CAV Ride Manual protocol) and may be required to sign a waiver of liability (Woody is checking into this). It was given that our current practice would continue in that non-members would not receive a subsidy when attending an event that is subsidized by the unit.
