5. Vice-President's Remarks
Don reported that he had a message from the organizers from the Brett Pearson Run for Life asking for participation from Paardeberg Unit.

Don then provided an overview of the proceedings from the 1 CAV Gathering Jul 8-10th:
1. The CAV charitable status: If you have unit bank accounts that are identified with CAV in the name, they MUST be renamed to remove CAV otherwise they will be subject to CRA audit! Use of just your unit name is recommended.

2. LATE membership renewals are now subject to an additional fee! (late fee totals $65) Please have your unit renewals in on time. Timelines will be forwarded shortly.

3. Candidates for membership are to be interviewed by unit exec to determine if the applicant is suitable to the CAV mission. New application forms will only be given to the applicant after a successful interview. Currently The CAV national membership stands at 849 with 304 of those members in 1st CAV.

4. The Rider Proficiency Crest (“Winged Wheel”) - a new process for awarding Winged-Wheels - see CAV Road Captain's Manual - Appendix A.

5. Communications: updates on unit activities is to be sent to: moc.liamg|PERTISVAC1#moc.liamg|PERTISVAC1.

6. The CAV website: is a high priority to get up to date. More news as it happens.

7. CAV Supply & Services process is now working well, units have expressed concerns that orders are too far apart. Increasing the frequency of orders will cause less quantities in each order thus higher prices & is not planned at this time. Returns are not accepted as stock is no longer held at Formation or National level.

8. Watch for Constitutional updates including Critical Events Protocol and Social Media Protocol.

9. 1 CAV Executive: Sgt Bob Stott, President; Willy Kaufman, Vice President; William Hoskins, Road Captain; Whippet, Membership; Pookie, Operations Webmaster and Vacant, Operations.

10. CAV National Directors are Stoker and his wife

11. Financial Report - was discussed and a copy will be circulated via email
