7:09 pm Kraken, Sgt-at-Arms called the meeting to order with a request for one minute of Silence.

The silence was broken with the reciting of:

1. President’s Opening Remarks
a) Welcome and introductions

Kraken welcome everyone to the meeting and asked members to introduce themselves.

2. President’s Discussion Issues
a) Adoption of previous meeting minutes - Moved by Mapper, Seconded by Sherain
b) Business arising
i) No business from last meeting

3. Vice- President’s discussion issues
a) Our Vice-President has relocated to Victoria and while he remains a member of Paardeberg he will not be attending meetings.
b) Website – has been updated and will continue to be update as social events / rides arise. Please watch your emails and for those on facebook check for updates on our Paardeberg page - REMEMBER if you post an impromptu ride on the facebook page please email the unit for those who aren't members of facebook.

4. Sergeant-at-Arms
a) Finance report - $253 in our current unit fund
b) Membership - Reminder for members to pay their unit membership. Kraken will follow up with those members.

5. Road Captain Report

Big Al will be organizing weekend rides and Kraken will organize weekday rides. Members are encouraged to lead or suggest rides.

The Executive met after breakfast last weekend to run through some ideas for rides, event that the unit will support and possible overnighters A draft copy of the 2018 calendar is on the website

TENTATIVE June 16 Sat UNIT - 09:00 hrs Darren Williams & Wayne Boone Memorial Ride Registration at Hillier Estates Winery with the Memorial service commencing at 11:00 am, followed by a ride through the beautiful county of Prince Edward. Donations will be graciously accepted on behalf of the TONY STACEY CENTRE & MILITARY POLICE FUND FOR BLIND CHILDREN. TENTATIVE Aug 11 Sat - FREE Prostate Clinic in Winchester - nice little Saturday drive, free clinic and it is just a blood test - WIN WIN for everyone - Dads, step-dads, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, sons - do it for your loved ones - DO IT FOR YOURSELF - come out and GET CHECKED - takes 20 minutes once your at the hospital

6. Points from the Floor
a) New business
- there was interest in adding Old Bastards Motorcycle shows to the calendar
- planning a unit social event that is subsidized - looking for suggestions
- interest in an advanced riders course through OSC - could invite someone from OSC to come give a presentation at a meeting

ACTION REQUIRED
b) Kraken will circulate the agenda prior to the meeting to allow members to send in items for consideration - this would allow the Executive time to review the items and get answers for the members by the meeting.

c) emails will be sent out reminding members of up coming events and meetings.

7. Presentations
a) New member / other presentations - year pins were presented to members in attendance

ACTION REQUIRED
Kathy suggested that once the riding season arrives the Unit should ride out to visit Bgruff and present him with his yearly pin.
b) Unit draw - the monthly draw was won by Kathy

8. President’s Closing Remarks
a) Adjournment - Meeting was adjourned at 7:20
