7:09 pm Mapper, President called the meeting to order with a request for one minute of Silence

The silence was broken with the reciting of:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

1. President’s Opening Remarks
Mapper, President welcomed everyone and asked everyone to introduce themselves.

2. Vice-President's Remarks
Don invited Unit members to his father's funeral on Friday, May 15th between 10:30 and 12 at Beechwood National Military Cemetery, a message will go out later in the week with a group meeting place and timing.

3. Sergeant-at-Arms Remarks
Nets messaged that he was unable to attend tonights meeting

4. Road Captain Report
Hammer, our Road Captain reported that the 2015 Unit Ride Calendar. has been posted to the website.

a) Past Event Updates

April 29 Kick off of the Motorcycle Ride for Dad 2015 Ottawa event at the Big Rig Brewery in Kanata was attended by Hammer as a MR4D volunteer and Trev. All money received for Iron Arse Ale (in cans this year) goes directly to MR4D.

May 2 FREE PSA Test - the Unit rode as a group to the Motorcycle Ride For Dad and Ottawa Hospital Foundation FREE PSA test on May 2nd reports testing approximately 250 men. Motorcycle Ride For Dad is a firm supporter of the PSA test given the recent reports that the test is only 60% effective.

b)Upcoming Events

May 9 Ride for Disable Vets - RV at the Stittsville Timmies on Carp Rd.

May 9 Wegner Point Memorial Service in Petawawa for the 7 paratroopers who drowned in the Ottawa River during a night exercise on May 9th, 1968. (4 Rad Ops from 2 Sigs and 3 RCR soldiers.)

May 14-18 The CAV AGM - info on thecav.ca or 1st CAV MU facebook page

May 18 Visit to Pvt Richard Rolland Thompson's grave site and Gatineau ride.

May 30 Motorcycle Ride for Dad Ottawa - Big Al will be attending the Blocker Ride Captains meeting and will advise members who are interested in Blocking, as to a RV point and timings for blocking. Members are encouraged to sign up as a blocker at https://fs10.formsite.com/MRFDOttawa1/Blocker/index.html When you register for the Motorcycle Ride for Dad remember to join as a Paardeberg Unit, The CAV member. This year there will be a change to the Poker Run route, with poker stops being 1 at the Cdn Aviation and Space Museum, 2. at Leggett Drive parking lot, 3. at Community Centre in Clayton and finishing at 4. Rideau Carleton Raceway.

June 27 Ride for Rescue Cats - organized by our own Fran and Big Al - http://paardeberg.wikidot.com/2015-ride-for-rescue-cats. Pre-ride will be June 1st - Big Al will send out an reminder.

Members should think about a group overnighter to the States or somewhere else?

5. President Report
Mapper our President is planning to attend the AGM in London the long weekend in May.

a) Presentations: Hammer presented: Q-T-Cat, Geppetto, Mel, Witch and J.C. with their 2014 Ride for Dad Blocker pins and kits.

a)Mapper thanked everyone for coming out to the meeting, noting a few folks rode their bikes tonight - Spring is here.

Mapper adjourned the meeting at 7:45pm
