7:05 pm Flatfoot, Sgt-at-Arms called the meeting to order with a request for one minute of Silence for fallen soldiers and riders:
The silence was broken with the reciting of:
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

1. President’s Opening Remarks
Trev, President welcomed everyone and asked members and guests to introduce themselves.
2. Vice-President Remarks
Mapper mentioned he would do a presentation on CAC membership later in the meeting
3. Sergeant-at-Arms Report
a) Finance report: Flatfoot reported our club balance is $271.94
b) Membership: Flatfoot will report on member numbers next month.
4. Road Captain's Report
a Activities:
Spider reported that since the last meeting the first draft of a ride plan for 2012 has been posted to the website. Members are encouraged to submit events that they wished to see listed on the unit ride calendar to him.
Spider proposed that the Unit consider a road trip to Port Dover for Friday the 13th in April as our first event. More info to come.
Spider will be the lead entertainer at a Coffee House, Feb25th; 7:00pm; The Royal Canadian Legion, Wakefield Branch 214,
27 Ch De Legion Wakefield, QC J0X 3G0, Canada. This is a charity fundraiser. Directions to the Wakfield Legion from Gatineau

Spider reported has and will continue to load photos and videos from past rides and events to the website over the next while.
A group profile has been created on Facebook for 1 CAV - Ottawa & Gatineau. If you are a member of facebook, send Kathy an email at moc.liamtoh|netul_neelhtak#moc.liamtoh|netul_neelhtak and provide her with your facebook name and she will "friend" you and add you to this group. This is a closed group for communicating with Paardeberg, Cambrai, Sicily and Coree members. 5. President's Report
a) 1 CAV President's Meeting - Trenton
Trev reported that he and Kathy attended this meeting. There were approximately 25 units represented at the meeting. Each unit was given 5 minutes to provide an overview of their 2011 activities and to highlight activities planned for 2012. Trev confirmed that Paardeberg
Unit would be the OPI for the Invasion of the War Museum in June and the Canadian Army Run Vanguard September 23rd.
CAV Crest is available in black for those who served in the navy.
For members who ski:
Calabogie Peaks: Millitary Appreciation day February 11th. Millitary/Veterans ski free and family members ski for 1/2 price.
Camp Fortune / Mont St Marie: offer military appreciation days on alternating Fridays - Camp Fortune remaining days Feb 17th and Mar 2nd. Mont St Marie remaining days Feb 24 and Mar 9
Trev thanked members who assisted with The CAV booth at the Ottawa Motorcycle Show. It was a pretty good show and there was a lot of interest in the CAV especially Lurch's millitary tribute bike.
6. Presentations

Mapper presented and discussed with members CAA membership which includes motorcycles. CAA Briefing Document
b) Unit pesentations
Trev presented:
- Mapper with his Vice-President's tag
- 2011 Paardeberg Unit Rider of the Year This year's award goes to a member who has been a member of Paardeberg Unit for a while, participating in as many events/rides as she can. She has led rides and stepped in to help out when and were needed. Trev and Spider presented Ann "Newf" Dias with the Moon Mullins Rider of the Year trophy and a keeper plaque.
- Fran was the winner of this evening s draw.
7. Closing Remarks
Trev thanked everyone for coming out to the meeting and encouraged members to stay a while and visit with Birt and Mike.
