b) Safety
On April 30th on the way to the Ride the Valley for Soldier On event, Irv the piper went down and injured himself enough to go to the hospital. He was patched up and sent home. However Tigger who lost controll of her motorcycle on the ride was airlifted to the Ottawa Civic and is currently in the trama unit. She will be undergoing a few surgeries shortly. Unit members are encouraged to go visit her. Kitbag and Susie have dropped in a couple of time, Trev and Kathy stopped by but she was sleeping so they didnt' stay.

Trev reminded members to ride safe at all times by constantly checking the road ahead for potholes, loose gravel or sand. It is also important when riding in a group to leave enough space between bikes to avoid road hazards. So remember to ride according to road conditions.

// b) Membership//
Jay recapped current membership:34 members plus 1 honorary member and 1 youth member. There was a discussion regarding inviting potential members to come out for at least one meeting and a couple of rides to check out our Unit. This will allow both the Unit and the potential member the opportunity to see if it is a good fit for both parties. The CAV is a veterans based organization and as such members need to support and believe in the millitary past, present and future.
