On Saturday August 20th Paardeberg members were lead on an overnight ride to Prince Edward County ON by President Gepetto and Ride Captain Hammer.
It was great to have so many member participate inspite of the threatening rain. (Gepetto, Hammer, Ann, Trev, Kathy, Gypsy, Brian, Kitbag & Sue and Beth)
We rode down old highway 16 to highway 2 which we followed all the way to downtown Kingston and out to Bath Rd. We followed highway 33 to the Glenora Ferry and a short wait for our ferry ride to Prince Edward County. We rode up the mountain to Lake on the Mountain Resort were we had a lovely lunch on the patio. Still no rain… Our Ride Captain was able to keep us dry and out of the rain until we arrived at Huff Wineries. We took shelter at the Winery while some participants purchased wine and relax with a coffee while waiting out the storm.
Once the storm subsided we were able to continue on our way up highway 62 to into Belleville and then back on highway 2 to CFB Trenton and the Yukon Lodge. Following supper and a few beverages at the mess we retired for the night.
On Sunday August 21st, riders gathered for breakfast then met Gypsy at the base Tim Hortons prior to departing for home via highway 37 and highway 7 to Perth. After lunch in Perth everyone agreed to take a more scenic route back to Manotick via Smith Falls, Merrickville and Kempville.
